I only have a few of these and they are lovely beyond what I could likely write but I will give it a go ~ These Ponchos are hand woven, hand dyed, hand embroidered by women generations ago and passed down through the families. Occscionlly one will be retired and I just happened to run into someone there who had several from families in his and neighboring villages. What luck! So I have added several pictures of each, the poncho as a while and close ups of the embroidery. These are one of a kind and can be worn, they do show some wear due to their age. Also keep in mind that Guatemalan women are small in build and stature so these aren't real long. If you are a collector of rare and unusual as well as beautiful work, these are a must have!
Details or this one ~ Poncho #1 is light purple with unbelievable embroidery of birds of all flavors and flowers as well as flora from the jungle. The body has a checkerboard pattern. See the phots they will give you a far better description than I ever could do justie to this! LOL
